Beauty From Ashes is a very powerful story of Tiff, a young single mom who gives birth to a very sick baby, Natalie. When Natalie is in the NICU in Seattle, her parents Jake and Tiff get married. Shortly after going home, Jake’s mom comes to stay with them and takes over Natalie’s care and the household. After two months, Tiff finds out his mom has been giving the baby medication without consulting them. It is with this disagreement that Jake tells his mother to leave. That evening Natalie gets very sick and she is sent back to Seattle
I really enjoyed this story. It is a stand alone story that is part of the Orchard Grove Christian Women’s Fiction books. Which are real life stories about real life believers who are going through struggles. The author has used events surrounding her son in this story. This story was so powerful, it was hard to put down.
There are so many parts to this story that touched me, the biggest being when Jake stood up for his wife and daughter and told his mother to leave. Other parts that touched me are when Tiff would experience the Holy Spirit revealing things to her and how she acted upon them. One of the things I liked about this story is how the author wrote in a character from another series. This person is the one Tiff turns to when things get tough and travels across country to be with Tiff. The book also contains some great discussion questions.
I received a copy of this book from the author, Alana Terry through Book Club Network. This is my honest review.
