Mark your calendars! Puerto Rican artist Adal Maldonado has just announced that his new book on self-portraits and selfies, I Love My Selfie, with essays by Ilan Stavans (Amherst College), will be released in May. A launch and book signing event will take place at the Puerto Rico Museum of Art [Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR)] on May 31, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Maldonado and Stavans will be in conversation at the presentation. The event will be moderated by MAPR Chief Curator, Juan Carlos López Quintero. The event includes a computer station in which attendees will be able to take selfies and see themselves projected onto the theater’s giant screen.
