review 1: A fascinating book, a horrible cult. Hard to read knowing this kind of abuse is still going on. I am inspired by Rebecca's courage and insight to escape and to stand up for justice. She's strong and yet keeps from being bitter. Thank you, Texas for your commitment to justice. I lived in Utah for five years and saw the justice system there turn a blind eye to so many things; it is inexplicable and awful. But thankfully now there is some progress.
review 2: Such an in-depth look into a world little of us want to admit exists, let alone exists in our own backyards. Religion, like money, promotes nothing but fear and hatred when placed in the wrong hands. Religion is meant to promote love and acceptance not fear and obedience as these twisted FLDS leaders have ... moredone. Kudos to this woman for overcoming such huge boundaries to try to bring some peace and happiness to these many, many people. I think this writer did an incredible job at examining and explaining both sides of this debate as she struggled to find herself as well. less
