review 1: I really enjoyed this 1st book of the series . It got me involved with the characters & made me want to continue the series. Sarah did a great job introducing the characters in this series. There was some romance, & some mystery which are my favorite combinations I won Anne from the author so I wanted to read the first book in the series first. I found myself routing for Oz & wanted to find out the whole story. I loved the setting of the book which is New Orleans, a city that is a s mysterious as the story was. I can't wait to read Anne next review 2: St. Charles at Dusk (House of Crimson and Clover Prequel) By Sarah M. Cradit * I received a copy of the book from the author in exchange for a honest review* Before I go into details, I want to say overall, I enj... moreoyed St. Charles at Dusk by Sarah M. Cradit. It was not really my type of reading material but all in all I did enjoy it. With that said, I have to admit that I had a little trouble following the story line with the switches in time frames and POV. Sarah does an excellent job in the description of places in New Orleans and I most definitely want to see some of them if I ever get a chance. However, at times, I felt like I was reading a tour guide, with too much detail. Oz and Adrienne are the main characters. I liked Oz, liked not loved, and thought he was a nice guy but he seemed a little wimpy to me because of the self doubt. I get it. He is worried about the age difference between him and Adrienne but make a decision all ready. His self doubt is commendable and honest but annoying at the same time. I was not the biggest fan of Adrienne. I could not connect with her. She is likeable but a little uppity for my taste. She is not a down to earth kind of gal. The story line however is interesting with all the twist and turns. Some of the back story was drawn out and a little unnecessary and I still have questions that never got answered but overall I liked it. St. Charles at Dusk by Sarah M. Cradit receives 3 out of 5 Platypires. TEXAS Hugs and Happy Reading!!! less
