The fascinating aspect of this book involved Hopwood working in the prison's law library. He taught himself legal knowledge that landed another prisoner's appeal in front of the Supreme Court! An inspiring story of redemption, hope and change.
review 2: I really really liked this book. It was inspiring to read about Shon Hopwoods story. A guy that makes a wrong turn can end up coming out okay. He has inspired me, as an attorney, to consider doing criminal defense work. Sometimes good people do bad things and he is a great example of this. If we just helped those in the cr
... moreiminal system maybe there wouldn't be such a great number of repeat offenders. A must read-- not greatly written but great storyline. I can see this being made into a movie someday. less

Interesting biography. Makes me hope that neither of our boys end up choosing the wrong path.
