review 1: I wasn't sure if I was going to like Mel or not as she didn't come off very good at the beginning, but she grew on me. I definitely like her fiancee, Grey and her dog, Missy.It is interesting that this series changes main characters between "feuding" cousins Caro and Mel (with this being Mel's first turn). The brooch thing was cute at first, but now I just wish they bury the hatchet and actually interact with each other.I really did enjoy the characters in this book. I felt sorry for poor Fluffy, but she will probably end up better off. There were certainly lots of false trails in this book and the end was a bit anti-climatic, but overall it was a fun and engaging story and I will be continuing the series.
review 2: A good fun read! The mystery was strong,... more and well written, and the characters fun to read about. This is the second book in the series, and I haven't read the first, but that didn't matter at all. The story held together without any of the background information. The only issue I had with the entire (very lite) read was that some of the motivations of the characters I found a bit hard to believe. less
