review 1: Great book. This was a good book to read with my children. We all enjoyed different elements about the story. It was nice that my younger ones could follow the plot of who was good and who was bad, and the older kids and I could dive deeper into the specific words and events that hinted at future twists in the story. This caters to those who love series books, but has a nice dose of the mystery genre.
review 2: It's pretty rare that I give a 1 star rating for a book. This book actually had potential but, unfortunately, it just fell flat. The book is over 500 pages long and could easily be cut down to 250 pages if you get rid of all of the meaningless paragraphs. It was so long and arduous to get through. Way too many characters and too many places to ke... moreep straight. I thought it was going to be a great adventure book, especially when I met the author and he signed the book. I wanted to like it, I really did. But liking this book was just not in the cards for me. less
