review 1: Like the other Venice Vampyr series this book was awesome. Tina Folsom is one of my favorite authors and rarely disappoints me. Nico is looking to purchase a house to help him and the other vampires combine houses on a block so that can connect them through tunnels so that they move around during the day time. Little did he know that he would be forced to marry the daughter of the man that he purchasing the house from in order to but it. He believed that the woman must be extremely ugly because she was not yet married. The conversation between Nico, Dante and Rhapael was hilarious because she went from being "Well past her prime, maybe even in her thirties!" to a forty year old spinster with a nose like a hawk to a wicked old witch.
review 2: Nico was a very na
... moreughty vampire. He was accustomed to sharing a bed with a different female every night. Imagine his disgust when he discovered that in order to purchase the house that he badly wanted, he had to marry the owner's daughter. If he refused, then t he owner refused to sell to him.Oriana was the "straight laced" daughter to a businessman who was selling his house and moving to the mainland. She loved science and was dabbling with a machine that would detect vampires. Her father caught her and after she refused to give it up, her father included marriage to her in the sale of the house.Nico was more than surprised when he saw his bride was beautiful. Oriana found that even though she didn't want it, she was sexually attracted to her new husband. Would Nico be able to take her as his wife and would Oriana be able to continue to resist his charms? And what of the machine? less
