Jim Shepard (born 1956) is an American novelist and short story writer, who teaches creative writing and film at Williams College. Shepard's work has been published in McSweeney's, Granta, The Atlantic Monthly, Esquire, Harper's, The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Ploughshares, Triquarterly, and Playboy. His short story collection â " Like You'd Understand, Anyway â " won the Story Prize in 2007, and was nominated for a National Book Award in 2007. The novel Project X won the 2005 Massachusetts Book Award. Along with writing novels and short stories, Shepard has also drafted two screenplays, one about Kenneth Donaldson and the O'Connor v. Donaldson case, and the other a movie adaptation of Project X. Shepard is the winner of the Rea Award for the Short Story (2016). Charles Chowkai Yu (born January 3, 1976) is an American writer. He is the author of the novels How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe and Interior Chinatown, and the short-story collections Third Class Superhero and Sorry Please Thank You. In 2007 he was named a "5 under 35" honoree by the National Book Foundation. Interior Chinatown won the National Book Award for fiction (2020). Robin Black's story collection, If I loved you, I would tell you this, was a finalist for the Frank O'Connor International Story Prize, and named a Best Book of 2010 by numerous publications, including the Irish Times.
