Overview

Every morning after his humans leave for work and school, Clem digs out of his yard to join his fellow Kaxians. So far, his humans have just filled in the holes, so he should be fine, right? No humans can know dogs are aliens. This gets difficult when Clem's latent abilities start to appear!

Dog aliens can't wait for their humans to leave them home alone. That's the only time they can do their covert intergalactic trading duties. The little dogs are aliens, too, but they are from a rival planet called Nique, and anyway, who cares about them?

There is a happy ending, and no dogs or humans are harmed in the story, although there are scary parts and sad parts. The dog tells the story!

About the Author

Cherise Kelley grew up in a family of teachers. Her father, Ronald Morris, taught social studies and history for 30 years at Arcadia High School in Southern California. Her mother is a registered nurse who teaches parents about the special needs of their premature infants. Her sister, Kristine Morris White, is a grand prix level dressage horse trainer.

Mrs. Kelley became a teacher herself in 1991 through a "fifth year" of study at San Francisco State University, after earning her bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley. She has taught English at the college, high school, and middle school level, but prefers to substitute so that she has time for her writing.

Cherise lives near Spokane, Washington with her husband and two dogs named Raffle and Oreo, who inspired her Dog Aliens books.
