  • Condition: Gut. 7. Auflage. 152 (10) Seiten. 18 cm. Umschlag: Heinz Looser. Guter Zustand. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd). September 1930 hei.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. AGATHA CHRISTIE short story "TAPE-MEASURE MURDER" TRUE 1ST WORLDWIDE APPEARANCE in This Week (an insert into a sunday newspaper - usually only carried in major markets - in this case it came from the Philadelphia Record - but you can find this insert with references to other newspapers of the day) (published in magazine form in the UK in February 1942 of Strand magazine under the title "The Case of the Retired Jeweller" (a near-impossible to find magazine due to it being published during WWII), later published in book form in Three Blind Mice And Other Stories), story contains illustrations by Arthur Sarnoff that appear nowhere else. Note - this is a large format newspaper "magazine" insert - printed on newsprint. NOTE - THESE "This Week" Agatha Christie first appearances are near impossible to find - NOBODY (AND I MEAN NOBODY) ever saved these (in essence) newspapers so you really only ever find then when a library has scanned them into microfiche or some similar product and then gotten rid of the hard copies. Magazine newspaper insert is okay - this magazine came out of some sort of bound volume and the magazine were bound with thread so when it was disbound there are tiny holes and most of the spine has worn away, no other chipping, tearing or creasing to front cover, no mid-point folding (how these are often found for storage purposes), no missing pages, rear cover intact, no former ownership markings or used bookstore stamps inside, no labels/stamps (when found these often have a library stamp on them), besides the considerable spine wear almost no other edge wear, no soiling or staining to cover, and given the age of this newsprint the paper is not brittle (except the spine). Overall a VG-/VG condition magazine of a rare Agatha Christie early WWII true 1st printing of this story. I have a number of other U.S. and U.K. Agatha Christie 1st printing hardcover/paperback/magazine appearances up for sale.
