review 1: Carter is a playboy and avoids commitment. Then his aunt falls ill and things change for him. Knowing that his aunt wants him to settle down more than anything, he lies and tells her that he is engaged to Lauren. She goes along with the charade and in the process they can't fight the attraction they have for each other. I really liked that Tracey didn't leave Carter as the unlikable jerk that he was at the beginning of the story and revealed that there was so much more to him. I also liked that she created Lauren to be strong enough not to put up with anything Carter dished out, but at the same time left her with room for growth during the story as well. I so enjoyed their story.I give Pretending with the Playboy 4 hearts!
review 2: I really enjoyed this book. ... more Carter is a big jerk at the beginning, but as the story goes on you can't help but fall for him. Lauren is kind of timid at first but she gets her backbone and is an amazing character. I read it in one day and it kept me entertained the whole time. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more from her.I was given a copy by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. less
