review 1: After speaking with the author on facebook, I decided to check out this piece and was beyond pleasantly surprised! It's not hard to make me cry, but with such a short story it's usually harder. Not this time... This story packed an emotional punch that had me bawling. The journey that Tommy goes one from beginning to end is such a rollercoaster. I loved the bit of supernatural element to it and the not knowing how it was going to end.It was such a heartwarming tale and this little piece makes me even more excited for the soon to be published story coming from this author! My interest is piqued and this author has me hooked!
review 2: 4.75 starsI truly enjoyed this short story. I especially enjoyed the emotion brought to the page and the characters. I feel that... more the author did a great job of bringing Tommy's inner turmoil in a way that helped me connect to him fully. I wanted to comfort him and reassure him that he was not alone. I admired Eli's determination that he was going to get Tommy in time and that they would be together.All in all a great, feel-good holiday story that reminded me that sometimes it's best to stop living in the past so that you can move forward into your future. less
