review 1: William Shatner discusses his favorite subject: William Shatner. The book is frequently amusing, and he spends much time kidding about his perceived narcissism. But it's clear, even if he doesn't realize it himself, that he's kidding on the square. As a bonus, Shatner takes yet another opportunity to explain that the fact that many of his Star Trek colleagues dislike him is everyone's fault but his. This is a common thread in Shatner's books and public remarks and it's a revealing one.
review 2: I gave this book 4 stars, because it is a goofy memoir of William Shatner, but in my heart I want to give it 5. It is funny and honest and full of interesting stories and facts about Bill. This is also the perfect example of how the unabridged audio version of a book i
... mores better the book itself. Shatner in his own voice is spot on and does a great job performing his own work. I am amazed that he was 80 and now 82, as he milks the Shatner persona for everything it's worth. I may just have to read this again...soon. Aside from the profanity I would recommend it to anyone who likes pop culture, from someone who has met everybody and doesn't care that not everyone loves him. (most of the Star Trek cast seem to dislike him. George Tekai announced his wedding and then announced that Shatner would not be invited.) I learned a lot and feel like I know this crazy man. less
