review 1: As soon as I saw these dogs, I thought, "Sesame Street!" And this book is by the guy who did those S.S. dog things. However, this is different in the addition of painting to create the illustrated story. And it is so adorable--it is begging to be done in a storytime. Lap-reads will be great, too.2/26/14 Turned out to be Kids enter Zoo free day and I had 2 very talkative children of the 4, so it was pretty distracting. Oh well. In a small group like that, I let it go. I think they enjoyed this.

Wegman's illustrations made with gouche on dog photographs are whimsical yet realistic -- think ... moreMaira Kalman-like illustrations with spunky characters like Ian Falconer's Olivia. This could be the beginning of a brilliant series. Please, Mr. Wegman? less
