review 1: (3.5*) :) Would have been a solid 4 stars maybe even a 5 but the story dragged at times. Knowing that this was a series at the start I thought that it was also long-winded. I would have like a little more romance since the two main characters were supposedly madly in love. I will continue on with the series because it is a good mystery-romance and I need to find out what happens with Matthew and Samantha.
review 2: I really loved the romance in this book. Samantha and Matthew's story is like a fairy-tale to me. The type of romance you dream about as a young girl (at least I did). I really enjoyed reading about their relationship. In addition, there was a lot of suspense and mystery in this book that I enjoyed as well. Parts of the storyline were a tad bit far-f... moreetched, but I was able to just roll with it. My only gripe is that the mystery wasn't resolved and I have to read the next book, and probably the third, before finding out if my suspicions are correct as to who was behind everything. It got to the point where I felt like the author was dragging it out too much, just to make it a series. I'm not sure that was necessary. But enjoyable overall. 3.5 stars. less
