review 1: Fantastic memoir by actor/writer/comedian Aasif Mandvi. Introspective, poignant tales of an emigrant life with no real "home"-- told with a twist of wry humor. More than 50 languages are spoken in homes throughout our town of Skokie--many of these families might have much in common with some of Mandvi's early experiences. I don't usually read celebrity bios or memoirs--but this was a wonderful exception.
review 2: Perhaps a little unfair, but Aasif's reputation preceded him for me. I've seen his segments on the Daily Show and quite liked them, and expected a similar sense of humor.
