Wow, the 9th and final book of the Allie Beckstrom series. This series has been amazing from the get-go. It's got everything that I love about the Dark Urban Fantasy genre and is missing everything that I don't like about the Paranormal Romance genre. Devon Monk did such an amazing job of world building in this series - I feel like I actually lived through all of this with Allie in Portland. Thank you Devon Monk for writing such a great series. I look forward to reading the off-shoot series about Shame and Terric.Semi-spoiler alert:If you've stuck with the series this long, and it's such a great series how can you have not, then you will not be upset with this ending. But I have to be honest, even if this book did not end like it did, I would have still been happy with the ending. This whole series pulled no punches and is so well written that a different ending would have made sense and I would have been OK with it. It's not totally a nice ending with all loose ends tied up, but that's how life is.

4.5 starsWhat a great conclusion to the Allie Beckstrom series! It sees Allie and her band of magic users - Authority & hounds alike, combating the Soul Complments Leander and Isabelle who are he'll bent on making magic there's to control. With help from Stone, the Animate gargoyle and Allie's dead father, Daniel Beckstrom, who once created the network within Portland to make magic's network of lightening rods, who's spirit now resides within Allie, the team set about closing the magic wells and shifting down magic. However with Shame and Terric losing control of magic and Allie's inability to cast magic will they get it done? This sets the scene for the Brojen Magic spin off series starring Shame and Terric
