Hart Mackenzie and Eleanor Ramsey fell in love and became betrothed. Something happened to end their romance resulting in Hart marrying someone else. Eight years later, Hart is a widower and Eleanor is an impoverished spinster. When someone begins sending Eleanor scandalous photos of the now Duke, she shows up at his London home asking for a job to find out who is sending the photos just as Hart's political ambitions are about to be realized. Harts sees his chance to win Eleanor back and agrees to hire her. I've been looking forward to this book since book 1 of this series. Parts of the book were done well - the slow reveal of why Hart and Eleanor ended and their falling in love again. The relationship between Hart and his brothers, especially Ian, is great. However, I again didn't like the ending (starting with the explosion and ending with Hart's life changing decisions) - lots of eye rolling plot changes - and throughout the book there were several plot points that never went anywhere. A bit disappointing considering this series as a whole, but I still plan to read the next two books already out.
Kinda ok with it, it didn't catch my attention that muchAnd the main couple really pisses me off, people u were so stupid U could have been together for decades but ur stupidity and ignorance kept u apart!!Well as usual I really liked the Ian parts, and I really noticed the special connection between hart and Ian it's so cute plus the relationship between the brothers is adorable and how hart looked to me more of a dad to them than a brother specially to Ian, cause everything he tried to do in a way involved his brothers specially IanAnd what I really liked about this series is that they prepare you for the next couple ^^ they give u glimpses and hints for the upcoming couple it's kinda cute tooBut I kinda was disappointed that this Mckenzie didn't have this specially connection with his valet or secretary like his brothers, cause its nice to have a bond with someone outside of the family which make them another sort of family.Yeah and let's not forget the epilogue XDDDDDIt was so adorable I loved the idea with the photographs, the single families and the whole family and the dogs XD
Still loving the Mackenzie stories! Hoping this is not the end :(
