Let me save you the trouble of having the epiphany yourself: If Julie James gave birth to all of her books, the ones in the FBI/US Attorney series would all turn out to be identical quintuplets. It's always a successful cool-headed strong-willed woman who has sassy quips ready like a ninja with throwing stars, who starts butting sexually frustrated heads with a tall, dark, and handsome McDreamy with a smoking hot bod and a husky voice. The two are reluctantly thrust into each other's lives by Important Crime Situations that nobody can solve unless they can somehow manage to tolerate the intense gazes they throw at one another while managing to hiss angsty born-through-lack-of-communication insults at one another. They throw down shade, park a car in it, and then proceed to have sex in it at least a couple times and then the Serious Crime rears its head and puts one of them in danger. The other leaps in to the rescue and afterwards their love is reiterated, if not declared brokenly into a bosom, and nobody, least of all yourself, is surprised. You saw this coming when you picked up the book.

I truly am sorry to give this book only a three star review, but I can't help it, I have to be honest, it is not a bad book, but I am a bit disappointed. This is my first Julie James book, and everyone keeps telling me she's amazing, breathtaking and so on, and this for me was just okay. The book had a lot of potential and the characters were fine, but through out the whole read I had a feeling something was missing, I can't exactly put my finger on it, but I will give Julie James another chance and I truly hope her other book or books will have a greater impact on me.
