I read books 5-11 of this series over the course of two weeks, so they blend together in my head. All of the books are paranormal romance with some mystery elements. The good thing about this series is that the author varies her romance formula more than most. Another good thing: good guys almost never die. (It's not an urban fantasy, despite the contemporary urban settings.) Worst thing about this series is the silly too-cute book titles. The writing is much better than the titles suggest, and the stories are not rip-offs of popular contemporary books. This one is about Scottish vampire Robby (Angus's great-something-grandson) and FBI psychologist and empath Olivia getting together. They meet on a Greek island. Robby's on a forced vacation because he was tortured by malcontents (bad vamps) in book 7. Olivia is hiding from a stalker serial killer's accomplice. There's instant attraction between them, but then a whole lot of mistrust when Olivia suspects that Robby might be the accomplice. Eventually they clear that up, but then the malcontents free a bunch of inmates, including the serial killer (Otis) and turn them into vampires.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.5 stars... I loved this book! It had earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Good read! Like the angle of the story!
