Great book. I feel this high school, teenager experience is quite honest, if not true. I could connect with Elise by my own experiences and from my children's experiences in school now. The teenage years are tough! You don't understand when you're that age that life is not all about friends and being popular, and that the mean kids won't be there forever. But Elise kept on going and being herself. Char was a ding dong, but I loved Vicky. Great book for teenagers.

In the beginning, I was upset for Elise because she is an interesting character and person, but she tries too hard to be noticed by the popular crowd. By the end of the novel, she learns the most important lesson that the popular people were never worth giving all her attention to. She was just a peacock trying to fit into a grouping of penguins. I loved her inner transformation and outer (baby needed a wardrobe change so her outside matched her insides).

Wow, unsympathischste Protagonistin seit Bella aus Twilight. Muss man auch erstmal schaffen.

Clueless in high school. Hmmmm, sounds familiar. Some very nice moments in this story!
