The second volume to the Night World Series, is just like the first in many ways. All night world creatures, including werewolves, vampires, witches and shapeshifters, are falling in love with humans. This volume is broken into three stories as well, Dark Angel, The Chosen, and Soulmate. In Dark Angel, Gillian is just an average girl, but when she almost dies and has a guardian angel, her whole worlds is turned around. In The Chosen, Rashel is a vampire hunter and it is her job to hunt down all vampires, but what happens when she falls in love with one? Then in Soulmate we meet Hannah who is an Old Soul, she dies, but is reincarnated, and her soulmate is obviously a vampire. In this story all the characters from the past five stories start to come together, and possibly in the next volume we’ll get to see what they’re up to. Overall the stories were well told, and the writing wasn’t bad, but it was predictable. You can tell after five stories what is going to happen. Maybe in the next volume it won’t be so obvious!

I thought that this book was even better than the first Night World (if possible). This book blew me away and I must have reread this book about five or six times. If I could have rated it higher than a five star, I would have. This series is an easy read and fun read. It isn't too intense or anything, but it is so easy to imagine yourself in L.J. Smith's world and the characters in the book become your friends. You also get that depressing book hangover because this great book is over. I highly recommend this book and all the books in the series to read this book. Just do it and you won't regret it.
