Dark fantasy novel that made me cringe in more than a few places, but I couldn't put it down. It's a little darker than what I'm used to, but not ridiculously so. It had a unique narrative style, which was confusing and intriguing at the same time. Interesting story, though a bit bizarre and disturbing. Maybe very disturbing and it just hasn't sunk in? The romance element was, interesting? weird? creepy? Not sure, but it was also different from what I'm used to. Anyway, I am looking forward to trying the second book in this trilogy. :)
I enjoyed this book. I wasn't super emotionally invested in it, but it was easy to not put it down. I found the main character likeable, and some of the other principle characters just as much if not more likeable. There was some confusion at first with pieces of the story, but it all became clear further on in the story. Perhaps that could have been done a bit more clearly, while still not giving away the mystery of the story.
This was one of those books that got me reading fantasy as a kid. So good. So, so good.
