The trouble with mythology books is that it's hard to know where to start and what direction to go, as many of the stories of the various Greek gods and goddesses tend to interlock. That being said, Rick Riordan does an excellent job in organizing his attempt at a Greek myth anthology. By limited himself to only the major gods and goddesses, Riordan shows smart thinking and by having the entire thing narrated by Percy Jackson, Riordan shows good taste. Percy's voice gives a youthful and modern slant to these ancient stories. To those people who don't love Percy Jackson (repent!) you might find the narration a bit wearing or irritating after a few chapters. I, however, am a complete Percy fan and enjoyed the whole book immensely.
Greek Mythology, an Inside View, by Percy Jackson (aka Son Of Neptune, or Seaweed Brain). It is a classic! If I was the Alexandria Chief Librarian, I will add it to my papyrus ;) Riordan, you really should write more about World Myths in this way.I almost could not put the book down.Dionysius chapter "sounds" like it was difficult for you to put with. It was not as fluid as the others, maybe because of the craziness and totally out of control stories.Overall it was a very pleasant narrative. Even with the unpleasant facts like murder, betrayal,...Keep telling your stories, and the "old stories" in your own way :)Thanks for taking your time writing for us!
Completely blew me away!
Hilarious :D
