I started 'Twilight' at 8am and finished the last book at roughly 8pm, with a decent lunch break. I'd nabbed the set off my sister to see what all the fuss is about. They're hardly complex reads (as evinced by the tiny completion time), but that's not the crux of the problem. The problem is these novels are designed to appeal to one very specific audience and induce a kind of contagious hysteria, and I am not part of that audience. I prefer the children's/teen literature I read to have a much more cross-generational appeal (a la the Harry Potters, where nearly every member of my extended family, young and old, was reading them at the same time).

I was introduced to this series from my friends in high school. Thought the first book was okay but thought it could have been better! But then I continued the series and fell in love with it! This is the book series that made me become an avid book reader and explore the different genres and writing styles each author portrayed in each book! For this series, I thought the last book was the best because it drew the perfect conclusion to a happy forbidden love story! Kudos to Stephanie Meyer!
