review 1: This book was better than the first and that's saying a lot. I thought I enjoyed the ride Ms. Shepherd took us on in Seeing Red but the second installment of the Brenna Mysteries was even better!! This book is intense. You get to see a side of Breena that isn't all about logic no matter how hard she tries to make it. You get romance and lots of action. The fact that this series only seems to be getting better has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the 3rd book! FANTASTIC!!!
review 2: It's a rare thing to find one of those books that hits a tipping point (you know, the point about 2/3 of the way into the story where it becomes absolutely clear that you can do nothing--NOTHING!!--until you've read through to the conclusion), but this book is one of them.
