review 1: I recall as a kid seeing Bobbie Brown first on Star Search and then later in Warrant's Cherry Pie video. I always thought she was very pretty. I also watched her and the other Ex Wives of Rock, on their reality show. After reading the book, Dirty Rocker Boys, I was astonished at just how egotistical, self-loving, self-serving she was and is. She bashes Jani Lane in a large percentage of the book about his addiction yet seems to brag about her own. Knowing she had a toddler that grew up during the time of her massive drug use and sleeping with what seems like all of Hollywood, is truly sad. After reading this book I have not an ounce of respect for her.
review 2: Anyone who grew up in the 80s remembers the first time they saw the "Cherry Pie" video starrin... moreg the absolutely gorgeous Bobbie Brown. I always wished I'd had the guts to move to L.A. when glam rock was It and all of the guys were hot, sleazy musicians with long hair. Bobbie did it. I loved living vicariously through her as she dated Tommy Lee, one of my first crushes. She doesn't hold anything back. You laugh and you cringe on the same page. This woman has been through a lot and admits she's not perfect. On a personal note, I emailed her a few years ago on My Space and she not only wrote back to me, but sent me a friend request. She'd mentioned in her profile she has ADD--I do too, and asked her what kind of medications worked for her and what didn't. She was very sweet and replied to every email I sent to her. I wish nothing but the best for her. She's been through a lot, but she can't ever say her life was boring. Thanks for providing this 80s girl with some interesting stories--I'm still having nightmares about Gunnar Nelson! Hope there's a sequel :) less
