review 1: This is a good book. I enjoyed the stories about the early life and war correspondent career of Brad Willis. I found his struggle with cancer and a broken back to be well described and well written. The author dives into Yoga like he does most things in his life. With reckless abandon. I think his gung ho attitude and lifestyle got him in the problem and the same attitude eventually saved his life with a change so radical that very little remains of his old life by the time he is finished. I'd say he practically became someone else. An interesting lesson on life and the story twists it likes to give us. I find his practice of Yoga to be extreme and an option for a very select few. Still the lessons on life are there for the taking.
review 2: This is a memoir ab
... moreout a journalist who suffered a painful back injury, got hooked on painkillers and booze, and then diagnosed with cancer. He becomes a father while dealing with these health problems, and after being forced into rehab, he discovers yoga. He becomes a student of yoga - full time. Describing how he becomes healthy again, he also changes his life to revolve around yoga, and his son. Very inspiring. less
