review 1: From the tone of the book I like this guy, and am glad he made it. It takes a lot of balls to chase a single dream no matter what. Even if it ends up different than you thought when you get there. So you end up being a music producer instead of the front man for Ratt. I laughed a lot at the stories from the hair metal years. Bang your head! Despite the difference in venue between my deal and his I took heart at that. Good job man.
review 2: A nice look behind the scenes of the music business from the point of view of somebody that has been through the fire (no pun intended) multiple times. Butch was in an 80s hair metal band that got traction just as grunge destroyed the commercial appeal, became a one-hit wonder with his great power pop band, Marvelous 3, and
... morethen finally settled as a singer-songwriter and writer-producer to some of the big names in pop (including Pink and Avril Lavigne). He seems to be very unflinching in his depictions of himself and the business overall with a very breezy conversational style. less

I love Butch Walker and it was cool to get some more insight to his lyrics.

Yeah, the editing could've been better. But I still loved reading it.
