review 1: Can't say I loved it. It started out as a defensive kind of rambling without a clear purpose. The book became clearer (or, at least, less disconnected) as it went on. The last couple of chapters—the ones about Michael Jackson, Liz Taylor, and her father, Eddie Fisher, were the most interesting and coherent. So if you can make your way through the first half of the book or so, the latter part is interesting and worth the read.
