review 1: That’s Why I’m Here By Chris Spielman Review by Nathan BlossomI was so inspired by this book in many ways, from football to just life experiences, this book let me go through emotions. Throughout this book I felt as if I was right there with the family because it was so descriptive and meaningful. I felt that I could relate to this book because me and the author both grew up in the same kind of area and we both play football. He talks immensely about Jones Middle School and about Ohio State University, so I could connect very well with this book. That is one of the main reasons why I liked this book. The best part of this book in my opinion is when Chris talks about his career in football and how he played for the Lions. I thought this was interesting because it talked ... moreabout a big portion of his life, which I thought was a cool part of the story. If showed how he had a big passion for the sport and pretty much just focused on football his whole life until he met his wife. This book was all about the life of Chris Spielman and the experiences that he went through. However a huge part of the book was about what his wife, Stefanie, had gone through. His wife was diagnosed with cancer in 1998 and it became a big part of Chris’ life that he had help her go through. It talks a lot about his relationship with god in the book and how it grew stronger throughout the book. I would strongly recommend this book. Even though most of know how the story goes and what happen, It is a great book to read because it give you many details about things that no one knew before this book was written. I strongly enjoyed this book and I hope you will too.
review 2: I read this book in iBook format during now season. This book is more than likely the main reason that I wasn't successful in the stand. Spielman does a fine job detailing his life as a die hard football player. He mentions how selfish he was in his pursuit of a football career in the NFL. He responded to the cancer diagnosis that his wife received like no other. It was clear the God was working with this family. The Spielman's strong faith helped them Dave many lives. less
