review 1: I really enjoyed this latest effort from Dave Gorman. It's a funny and poignant look at the internet, media and advertising. My only issue with it is that I'm not exactly sure why it's a book - it reads more like a collection of magazine articles, each one sounding like Dave noticed a particular funny thing (such as the true identity of Barry Scott or how tweets in adverts look weird) and then just padded it out into a chapter. If you (like me) bought this because you're a fan of his previous wacky adventures, you might be a little disappointed. But as a quick read it's very interesting and fun, and I would recommend it.I'll leave you with my favourite Dave Gorman quote from one of his earlier books, possibly explaining how this one came to exist:"He'd said it would be just... more me, my imagination and my computer. He was wrong. My computer is connected to the internet and the internet contains everything in the whole world ever. Now I don't know about you, but I sometimes find everything in the whole world ever to be a bit distracting."
review 2: Like all of Dave Gorman's books I don't ways find myself agreeing with him but I do find myself laughing along at his point of view. I've been to several of his stand up shows and own all his books and DVDs and because of this I can only give this one 3 stars as some of it is a rehash of things I've already heard him talk about. Granted they are done differently in the book but I still remember enough of them in their original form to be slightly distracted by it. I should stress that I never once felt like I'd been tricked into paying for the same stuff twice, I throughly expected him to reuse some material. It just took me out of the particular essay more than I'd expected. less

Entertaining rant. Moves on at a fair old pace without containing any world-shattering revelations.

Funny and witty, rehashes some of his material for Modern Life is Goodish but still enjoyable.
