review 1: This book was exactly what you'd expect. It's a sweet read about a cat who spends time with residents in a nursing home who are about to die. It's cute, although fairly predictable. The writing itself wasn't very impressive, and often felt a little trite. However, it's based on a true story, which gives it sincerity. I would recommend it to a person who loves calm, predictable reads, and cats.
review 2: When I first started reading this book, I knew it was non-fiction, but I wasn't aware, right away, that it dealt with Alzheimer's and how they can be difficult to deal with. I may have to write to Dr. Dosa and thank him personally. Mu maternal grandparents have been gone for 10 years, now, and this made it possible to understand one treatment (with animals pre... moresent) definitely has it's benefits. Since Alzheimer's runs in the family, I can only hope that animals will be available for me should I go to a nursing home, and that there is a special unit for dementia. I have a feeling I may be needing it when my time comes. less
