review 1: Seventy-six year old Marylou Ahern moves to Florida on a mission. She is in search of the doctor who subjected her to radioactive treatments decades earlier during her pregnancy, which led to the death of her only daughter. She hasn't decided on a method yet, but is determined to kill him. She finds the now-aged doctor living with his daughter's family and, donning an alias, Marylou inserts herself into their lives. Her plans are altered time and again as she gets to know the dysfunctional family and sees they may self-destruct without any help from her, and soon her plan of revenge changes direction altogether. The story ranges from hilarious to heart-breaking, but is always entertaining. Each chapter is narrated by a different character, providing deeper insight into eac... moreh person. The story remains somewhat lighthearted, despite the heavy issues it deals with.
review 2: The cover won me over in my last bargain book shopping trip on B&N. The story ended up being much better than expected--lots of characters, and the narrative switching from one to another as the chapters moved along. The plotline went up, down, around, and under, which was entertaining. Elderly lady moves to Florida town to kill a Dr. who subjected her to radiation back in the day while she was preggers. Based on some true stories, that. Story is all about getting into contact with the Dr., which she does through his odd little family. I really loved the Dr.'s daughter, who was described through the lens of menopause. Finally **SPOILER ALERT** it ended all happy, although everyone remained imperfect. less

kind of went a little off the rails at the end, but an enjoyable read otherwise.
