review 1: Riveting because it never waivers from he personal - as broad as the political and historical threads of a history of Pakistan have the potential to be, Fatima Bhutto never puts down her own lens. The first quarter of the book, chronicling the events before her birth are by nature a bit more pedantic, but once her father, Murtaza Bhutto enters adulthood, the story rockets off, never returning to base, but instead exploding into fireworks (not celebratory, mind you...) by the end of the narrative.

... moreudals while maintaining that feudalism is wrong for the Pakistani society. She glosses over the elder Bhutto's career refusing to dig deeper into what went wrong. But I guess her main focus was on her story of her father and her. That bit of the story kept me moving throughout. A definite five stars. Doctor Jawad would be proud of her efforts. less
