review 1: Seemed like a pretty thorough biography. Pleasant read, unlike some bios. I already knew much of what had been written, but enjoyed the bits about the relies and the small group of hardcore fans he's had from the beginning. Although his best music came during THE BEATLES era, as a septuagenarian, he continues to do what he loves (knows?) with success, an incredible feat in and of itself. Oh, to have that amount of money and to keep striving to stockpile more. Not a world I know about. Paul McCartney has really used the media to his advantage by appearing to be so affable, while in real life, not always so nice. Final thought is that it must be nice to be PM.
review 2: In my lifetime, I have read a wide array of books about the Beatles. I have mostly read book
... mores about all 4 Beatles together, but there have been quite a few about Lennon specifically that I have devoured. That is why it is so nice to see the whole thing from the McCartney side. This current and comprehensive biography follows Paul to present day with an interesting emphasis on his post Beatle days. I truly enjoyed some of the very personal details. Sounes does an excellent job. less
