review 1: The Captain : Derek Jeter is a perfect book for the retiring of Derek Jeter. This book is also very good for people who haven't known Derek Jeter much or just wanted to know more about him. It makes you realize that Derek Jeter wasn't just a good baseball player. Derek Jeter's leadership and impact on other players is shown greatly in this book. It is a must read for people who love the Yankees and Baseball.
review 2: A good book, bot one ultimately limited by its methods (Jeter hasn't agreed to be interviewed for any biographies) and its timing, being finished in 2011 so not capturing Jeter's 3000th hit. Also way too much of the A-Rod soap opera for my taste, no matter how important that was to Jeter's Yankees. Definitely the best book written on Jeter to
... moredate, but I think the definitive book on Jeter and what makes him the most determined winner in sports in my lifetime (in league with Brett Favre or Michael Jordan) has yet to be written. less
