review 1: Tow reading groups, two totally different books, both groups meet on consecutive days this week. I love it when I book I would not have chosen for myself ends up surprising me and this was one. I wasn't sure I could find anything engaging in the memoir of a Buddhist surfer but Yogis tells his story honestly and well. His humor is self-deprecating. And I think I understand both the draw and the power of surfing better than i ever did before.
review 2: I thought it was a decent book, but I don't quite understand how or why there so many "chapters", some of which seem to comprise little more than a paragraph. ... more but I felt that there were gaps, and aside from a few interesting sections, nothing particularly memorable happened. less
