review 1: She isn't a great writer, but you have to appreciate Jaycee's honesty and candidness. I am sure it was really difficult to write about lots of the things in this book. Parts of it were a little too graphic for what I am used to, but those things really happened to her and it's her right to share what she wants from her horrible experiences. This book is heart breaking, but I learned a valuable lesson about the ability to 'hope'.
review 2: Obviously very sad that she had to go through this and still love with it every day. Must have been devastating for a child to be ripped from her mother and sister at just 11 years old and be forced into awful sex acts with a strange man. However, I must admit, the book was so poorly written I almost abandoned it. I couldn'
... moret bring myself to do that though, because I thought after 18 years in captivity this woman deserves to have people read her story after she was willing to put it out there. 18 years! I realize her formal education stopped at 11, but that's why there's editors! Not to rewrite the entire text, but to make the story make more sense. It was rather jumbled and confusing and juvenile, but again, understandable. less
