review 1: When I first heard about the book, I was kinda hesitant whether to get it or not and after I bought it, it stayed for few months on my shelf, I couldn't bring myself to read it because I was afraid of the heartache but I'm glad that I did because surprisingly this book jumped to be in my list of favorite books. I've read 10 different books on Michael Jackson and this one must be the memoir that touched my heart the most. And just when I thought that after all these years I'd not be that angry reading about the two false allegations .... that I wouldn't be that pained after reading about his death .... I was so wrong. The last chapters of the book absolutely broke my heart into tiny pieces that I finished few hours ago but I can't help but getting emotional again from just r... moreemembering it.The book is beautiful. There is no dirt whatsoever, just pure beauty of a legendary person that sadly was too good for this twisted world of ours. Yes, in the book some parts were airbrushed but most of the book was complete sincerity and it made perfect sense. In the first 300 pages I wrote a lot of notes about the book that I will use for my review but after I finished reading it, I just deleted all of my notes because no need to comment and like Katherine Jackson was quoted in this book:"I know that they're going to be saying the most horrible things, there's nothing they can say that can harm him now."-----I grew up listening to Michael for nearly 20 years of my life (I'm 23 now) and he taught me a lot of things and made an impact on me that no one ever done before. I never believed anything they've said about him, in fact I always defended him (and still do) because a person with such message like him could never be the horrible person they tried to make him appear to be.------I salute Jermaine for going ahead with writing this memoir, although it broke my heart, but it was a great journey and I'm sure that I will feel empty because I really got used to it. It felt like I was having a cup of tea with Jermaine and he was taking me into a memory lane. Beautiful job...I'd recommend getting this book accompanied with:1- Michael Jackson: The Magic, The Madness, The Whole Story by J. Randy Taraborrelli for a full biography 2- Michael Jackson Conspiracy by Aphrodite Jones for a full account on the trial------Michael,I will always respect you for the person you really were. The world is not the same without you but I'm hoping that you are finally resting in a better/safer place.
review 2: Let me begin by saying I never was a Jackson 5 or Michael Jackson fan. I liked a few of their songs but they never "floated my boat". That said, I came into reading this book thinking it would be a totally biased "puff piece." It was not. Jermaine Jackson was biased but in a way that a brother would naturally be defending his brother. But, he also writes about the domineering Papa Joseph Jackson and his total stranglehold on the family during the early years. Also, he writes about many of the inter family squabbles. I do think the book is ultimately worth reading and it gave me a greater appreciation of Michael Jackson's art, his work ethic and his charity. less

A little biased, naturally, but still nice to get a REAL insiders perspective about Mj..
