review 1: Man. I have no idea how to rate this book. I picked it up because I grew up near Iowa City and something intrigues me about books with settings I know personally. It was a super quick read - started it last night; finished this morning. It wasn't an easy read, though, not at all: themes include natural disaster, marital infidelity, and raising a severely disabled child. Not sure it was a book I liked, but is a book I'm still thinking about 2 hours after finishing. So I won't give a rating now, maybe ever. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't read it.

... moregue so that makes sense why I couldn't put the book down at the beginning...My favorite line: "If a guy could cut an hour off his commute time, he'd spare no expense to do it. And he wouldn't be ashamed to tell everyone how he did it. Yet everyone keeps quiet about vibrating dildos." =) less

Brutal, unflinching memoir that is often painful and always compelling.
