review 1: i really enjoyed this book- I read it al in a day (granted I was stranded on an airplane). The story is of a man whose life is falling apart due to alcohol and prescription drug use and he is searching to save himself and his marriage. He hears the story on the news of three Mexican fishermen that survived 9 months in a boat in the Pacific Ocean and ended up in Asia. The only thing they had was a Bible and their faith to get them through it. HE is inspired by their story and wants to tell it. He shares it by paralleling his own life and getting lost, but finding God and faith and making it through.
review 2: I received this book for free from winning a drawing through readitforward.com. I read it out loud to my husband on a road trip and we both really enjoyed
... more it. It is a true story..actually two true stories woven together to create a message of hope, faith, and a testimony in God. It tells of the true incident that happened to 5 fishermen from Mexico who embarked on a fishing expo back in 2005 and were stranded at sea for 9 months. Three survived and one bible. During this story, the author is paralleling his own story. He too is "lost" in a fast-paced lifestyle that almost kills him. It is a book about how each were "found" and their long strenuous journey of finding God. Eventually the two stories collide. I enjoyed reading a Christian bear his testimony to the world. Because he can't help it. less
