review 1: Was a big fan of the show in the beginning. I thought they were a really cute family that seemed to have their sh*t in order... little did we all know...Regardless, this book was the better of the few that Kate has written. If you liked the show, you'd like this book.The only thing that really doesn't sit well with me is her (and John, as he co-wrote this one) constant claiming to be religious, constantly quoting the Bible and such. I know that their reality show is only a fraction of their lives, but if they are so "Gung-Ho with God" don't you think we should be seeing some of that come across on-screen. That fact alone made me question if they were as "imperfectly perfect" as they were protrayed.
review 2: This was a really good book. I have seen Jon and Kat... moree Plus 8 the TV show, but this book was a nice peek at some things only hinted at in the show sometimes. This family is a God loving one and I was pleasantly surprised to read that the couple depended on God in their everyday life. I cannot imagine finding out there are 6 babies in your tummy! Then to carry them...trying as long as possible to stay strong and resist labor...then when the babies come to wait for them to be completely healthy and be able to be released from the hospital....then needing lots and lots of help from friends, family, neighbors, and just volunteers from the community to help feed the babies...change their diapers, give baths, put to bed, feed them again, do laundry, make bottles, wow it would be a huge load. I think they do a really great job...I am glad God is using their story about the importance of LIFE and not giving in just to make our lives easier. less
