review 1: What a beautiful story about a mothers love and an adorable cat that created so much joy and love for this family. I really was touched by this story. George, an autistic boy, had his life changed when adorable Ben walked into it. He learnt how to have fun and love. My heart dropped when Ben went missing and George withdrew again. Well done Julia for your quest to find your adorable pet. I still wish I knew how he ended up so far away though???? Great read x
review 2: A friend gave me a copy of this heart warming memoir by Julia Romp, a single mom raising her son George who is autistic in their London flat. At first I expected it to be depressing and there are sad moments, but when Julia takes in a small black-and-white stray cat they name Ben, life changes. A
... mores George bonds with Ben, he begins to open up to his mother. They form a family and enjoy happiness until Ben goes missing. Julia doesn't give up in her search to reunite the cat with George and regain her hope for her family's happiness. Wonderfully written with touches of humor as Julia uses a cat's perspective at times and insight into the struggles and the joys of this unusual family and the dilemma of both single parenthood and autism. I recommend it to anyone looking for hope in a challenging situation. less
