review 1: A beautiful book with many suggestions of "how to" do different things. Several examples are given for "how to go fast" - one child is being carried, one uses a scooter, another stilts, and another runs. Some are what you might expect, as with kites and balloons for "how to see the wind" and pots and pans and wooden spoons for "how to make some music." Others are more unusual, like "how to be a mermaid" or "how to have a good sleep" (very reminiscent of the Princess and the pea here!)"How to make a sandwich" is fun as the sandwich consists of children and big pillows. Ample use of white space, deliberate use of color -- beautifully designed; linear, distinctive illustrations, with a multicultural cast of children.
review 2: An interesting book that shows older
... morechildren doing various activities. I think this is a four star book but there were some issues with it. On the page about watching where you are going, the phrase "how to" is repeated twice where it should be mentioned once. In the illstration for "how to see the wind", there is a giant gust of wind that moves things in various directions. If there is a gust of wind, it should be coming from one direction and not moving things on the same plane in opposite directions. Other than that, this is an enjoyable book. less
