review 1: My favorite sub-genre (Organized Crime - Gangsters) - Sammy 'The Bull' Gravano - the story told by the ultimate insider, his own daughter. I thought I'd love it.There were some interesting tidbits here and there but ultimately I found it poorly written and, well, boring.I will say that this is the 2nd book I've read that was co-authored by Lisa Pulitzer. The first was "Portrait Of A Monster" about the Natalee Holloway case. That book was much better so I'm questioning her impact on either project?2 Stars★ = Horrid waste of time★★ = May be enjoyable to some, but not me★★★ = I am glad I read it★★★★ = Very enjoyable and something I'd recommend★★★★★ = A rare find, simply incredible
review 2: I thought as a book to be read for an ins... moreide look at someone's life that mob daughter was an interesting read. I haven't seen mob wives yet (just ordered season 1 after reading this book). For those of you that are tearing apart grammar etc think of it like this. First of all, Karen is not the writer, Lisa is. All Karen has done is give Lisa the info included in the book. (That's what with such and such means on a book cover). Secondly, are you all English teachers? Because I am, and I sure as anything would not pick up a book like this to analyse it and pick apart the structure of sentences etc. I read to get away from my job for a second and when you think about the fact that reading is a form of entertainment (in this context), do you really need to become grammar NaZis?Enjoy the book, then get on with your life..or go and read some Fitzgerald to satisfy your urges. less
