Ok, so it’s rare I gush over a single object in my post, but I have to this time. I am in love with this sweater. First of all its two textures are so freaking beautiful and when I saw the cashmere, I absolutely fell in love. When I saw pink as one of the options, it’s as if the heavens opened up and Prince’s song “Pink Cashmere” from the movie Girl 6 just started singing only to me.
Now for those young bucks who don’t know what this movie is or is about, it’s about a phone sex operator and the daily goings on at the office. But the song itself stems from a romantic gesture that Prince did in the 80’s; penning this song for his then freshly turned 18 yr-old girlfriend, or so the story goes. It wasn’t released, however until 1993. And from what I can tell is only available on his Girl 6 Soundtrack or the B-Sides album he turned out back in the day. Aaaanyway, the song is slink, romantic, silky in tone and sexy as hell and that is just how I felt when I slid this sweater over my shoulders and fell back into the softness of the fabric’s appearance. The flower is just a bonus for me and I had to make it a chrysanthemum yellow; my birth flower (that and my mom always liked me in yellow tones). So I’m off to enjoy my new sweater and relax to more romantic music by the one and only Prince. You, on the other hand, should head over to Collabor88 and pick up this really beautiful sweater.
