review 1: This book reads more like a blog than nonfiction, but I happened to enjoy the author's style/persona, so it didn't end up bothering me. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's more about the person of Chanel and how she approached life to achieve what she did, rather than the brand. Some people seem to disagree with the "life lessons" presented, but I was comfortable with the lists as more a presentation of what worked for Chanel in her life and her circumstances, rather than any realistic to-do list for the 21st century woman.

It was fun. A little more vulgar than it needed to be but I'm getting sensitive to that.

She was fascinating and I will definitely read more about her. This book was very good.

A very self-referential book, not well-written, repetitive. I lost interest quickly.
