review 1: I enjoyed this book. It was really emotional. Sometimes the over analysis of feelings and motherhood bothers me and seems overdone. The author holds nothing back, and while it was dramatic, it was also authentic and I think she did a really good job of describing her journey to understanding her role as mother to a child with Down Syndrome. I think I would have felt the same way she did most of the time. I listened to it and a couple of times I had to make a concious effort to make sure I didn't start crying while jogging through the park. I would recommend to any mother or someone who wants a good perspective on learning to deal with a difficult and/or unexpected trial in life. It might be a little heavy for a pregnant reader looking forward to a healthy baby. A lot ... moreof mild language throughout, but used in an inoffensive way.
review 2: I know Kelle catches hell for her blog and her choice to post photos of her kids but I absolutely loved this book. I found it to be a very open and honest look at how a mom has to reconcile herself to the fact that she has a child with DS. I admit to wanting to slap/shake her at several points but, this was how she dealt with it and she could've written herself to be a perfect mom who instantly accepted the fact and moved on. Kelle admitted all her doubts, fears and yes, disappointment. It's a great read for moms or anyone who works with children. less

It was a good book. Not sure what I expected but wasn't what I thought it would be I guess.
